Laurie earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler Graduate School in Minnetonka, MN and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Most recently, she has also earned a certification as a Child and Adolescent Trauma Treatment Professional. She has been working in the Twin Cities for 30 years, specializing in trauma and working mostly with children, teenagers and families.
Laurie also specializes in working with LGBTQ+ clients, teenagers and children that are living with autism, anxiety, depression, attachment disorder, self injurious behavior and suicidal ideation. Laurie has worked with transgender individuals, in any stage of their life and any stage of transition. She also specializes in trauma work using EMDR and mindfulness. Laurie knows that even if you do not have a previous diagnosis, this time in our lives is making people anxious, depressed and facing crisis and trauma like never before.
Laurie is also a clinical supervisor who works with therapists who are doing their internship in graduate school or who are pre-licensure and LAMFT’s and LPCC’s who need to have supervision.
In her free time, Laurie enjoys reading, baking, traveling, movies and time with family.
