Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatrist
Born and raised in the Midwest, Dr. Gerstner is excited to be able to assist children and families in obtaining a healthy and happy life. Dr. Gerstner completed medical school, residency, and fellowship at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is Board Certified in both Child and Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. He has experience through the lifespan and with diverse populations providing both therapy and medication management. He has seen patients in outpatient, IOP, PHP, inpatient, residential and forensic settings and his goal each time is to meet them where they are at and make changes as a collaborative team to affect change.
Dr. Gerstner’s has particular clinical interest in anxiety disorders and ADHD. He believes that every person should have a stable foundation to achieve his or her potential, and that mental health is one component of that foundation. While every patient is unique, he enjoys watching each develop and improve; focusing on long term skills and recommending only those treatments that are necessary and effective. Dr. Gerstner enjoys being there for children and families in times of need as well as seeing them develop independence and success.
In his spare time Dr. Gerstner enjoys volunteering, running, carpentry and spending as much time on the water as possible.
