Chill Skills is an interactive activities and game club for teens with Autism or teens who want to enhance their social network. Chill Skills provides fun, independent, peer-mentored social group for youth ages 12-18 and a place for families to interact and find support in a safe, non-judgmental environment. This is a weekly opportunity for middle and high schoolers – who are capable of some independence and desire to interact with others like them – to socialize and make new friends.
Goal: to create a structured experience around the utilization of games with therapeutic elements to help players work on social interaction, understanding, listening, empathy, nonverbal social cues, identifying emotions and mindfulness.
Who: teens with Autism or related disorder who are 12-18 years old
When: Wednesdays from 4:00 – 5:30 pm
Where: PPG Lower Level, Specialty Programs
